Exhibition of historical and contemporary woodblock prints from the University of Alberta Art Collection which houses one of the finest print collections in Canada. Curated by Jim Corrigan, the exhibition outlines the aesthetic, cultural and technical developments of Japanese woodblock printing from the Edo (Tokugawa) period (1603 – 1868) to present day, including the development of Ukiyo-e (pictures of the floating world) leading into the 20th C developments of Shin Hanga (new prints) and Sosaku Hanga (creative prints).
