September 12: Picasso & Abstraction

  • Join us for “Picasso and Abstraction,” an event celebrating the iconic Pablo Picasso and other abstract artists. Explore their works on display and immerse yourself in the world of abstract art. We’ll provide drawing supplies for you to create your own masterpieces and have table games and door prizes for some added fun. Don’t miss this opportunity to engage with art and enjoy a creative evening! 

 

October 17: Emily Carr & Canadian Women

  • We are celebrating the remarkable contributions of Canadian women artists. Explore the stunning brushstrokes of Emily Carr, one of Canada’s most renowned artists, alongside works by other influential Canadian women such as Joyce Wieland, Kenojuak Ashevak, and Mary Pratt. We’ll have drawing materials available for you to create your own art and table games and door prizes. Don’t miss this chance to engage with these iconic artists and enjoy a creative day! 

 

November 21: Hiroshige & Woodblock Printing

  • This month we dive into the beauty of Japanese woodblock printmaking. Discover the stunning works of Hiroshige, celebrated for his beautiful landscapes and intricate designs. We’ll showcase his works alongside other examples of woodblock printing, including some Canadian artists. We’ll have drawing materials available for you to create your own art, as well as table games to enjoy throughout the evening. Don’t miss out on our exciting door prizes! January 30: Matisse & French Artists 

  • Experience “Matisse & French Artists,” an event celebrating the vibrant works of Henri Matisse and other renowned French artists. Henri Matisse is celebrated for his vibrant use of colour and innovative approaches to form and composition. Engage your creativity with drawing materials available for you to use, and take part in our exciting door prize giveaways. It’s an inspiring evening of art appreciation and hands-on fun you won’t want to miss! 

 

February 27: Bill Reid and Northwest Coast Art

  • Explore the remarkable works of Bill Reid and other influential Northwest Coast artists. Enjoy complimentary art viewing and explore the distinctive features of this art style. We’ll have drawing materials on hand for you to create your own art, and there will be exciting door prizes up for grabs. Join us for a night of artistic inspiration and fun! 

 

March 27: Salvador Dali and Surrealism 

  • Dive into the imaginative world of one of Surrealism’s most iconic figures. Dali was renowned for his dreamlike and wild imagery. Enjoy viewing Dalí’s mesmerizing works and other surrealist artworks. Get inspired and create your own surreal art with the drawing materials provided.
