Artist: Tiny Bill Cody
“Bring A Song To the Atrium” was activated for three days, from Thursday November 19 through Saturday November 21. The yurt generated music and performance beginning at 11:30am each day and running continuously for four to eight hours each day. Dozens of performers, from novice to professional ensembles participated. The yurt succeeded in bringing informal and intimate music to an otherwise daunting and cavernous student atrium.
ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
Tor Lukasik-Foss is a visual artist, performer and writer using a multidisciplinary practice to investigate the eccentricities of the public sphere, everything from municipal signage to the concert stage. His art practice blends together drawing, sculptural assemblage with public performances of spoken word and music. Recent exhibitions include “Protoscenia”, Rodman Hall (2009), “Urban Moorings” Hamilton Artists Inc (2008), “The Monotheatrum”, Art Gallery of Hamilton (2008). He has created performance art works for WKP Kennedy Gallery, North Bay (2005); McMaster Museum of Art, Hamilton (2004); and Spasm II, Saskatoon (2004). His latest CD under the pseudonym Tiny Bill Cody is titled “Tiny Bill Cody and the Liquormen”. His work is supported by Ontario Arts Council. He lives in Hamilton.
