Select Saturdays | 11 am – 4 pm

Join us for ARTLab, a free, drop-in event where you can play with a buffet of art supplies. Explore drawing, painting, collage, watercolour, and more. A great way to relax and unwind. All are welcome. Free refreshments!  

You can still find many of our projects on our “ARTLab From Home” YouTube channel.

All activities are geared to be flexible for all ages from kindergarten through to adults, and use accessible household materials. If you have any questions about the crafts please email our Program Coordinator Kirsten Meiszinger.

2022 – 23 Schedule

  • September 10 – Silkscreen Printing

Using transparent base and watercolour crayons participants will draw directly on a silkscreen frame. The transparent base is applied activating the watercolour and when pressure is applied via a squeegee, an image transfers through to a piece of paper. Low-tech and easy!

  • October 22 – Button Making (Campus Food Bank Fundraiser)

Join us for an art buffet in the UHall Atrium. Drop-in between 11 am and 4 pm and Have fun drawing, painting, and colouring, or play with our button maker. Buttons cost $2 each, or 3 for $5. all proceeds go to the Campus Food Bank. Free refreshments!

  • November 19 – Beading

Join us for our November ARTLab. We have free supplies to enjoy painting, drawing, collage, embroidery… And this month we also have beading! Come and explore your creativity or learn something new. Free event, and refreshments.

  • January 7 – Weather Themed

January ARTLab is an artsy day open to all to come and explore new media and relax while creating. With two exhibitions about the environment opening in January we will have a craft for you to explore our relationship to weather, as well as our general art buffet. Cookies and art supplies provided.

  • Wednesday, January 25, 7 – 9 pm, W630, Level 6, Centre for the Arts – Print-A-Patch

Whether adorning a tote or t-shirt, or printing on fabric to sew your own patch, join us on January 25th to select from pre-made screenprinting designs and DIY print a patch. The process is easy, approachable, and fast for all ages.
